Q&A with West Forsyth's Luke Fernandez |
Posted 1/6/2022 Meet Luke Fernandez, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound pitcher/outfielder from West Forsyth High School who has signed with Oklahoma State. Fernandez is a member of the North Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2022 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.
Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have? A: I’m not superstitious. The only thing I really try to do before or during a game is to make myself comfortable. For example, I like my clothes to be comfortable and I even like where I sit and hang between innings to be comfortable.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team? A: Chicago White Sox. I was born in Chicago.
Q: What is your favorite food to eat? A: Any cajun food.
Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? A: I have a twin brother who is an outstanding shortstop.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject? A: My favorite teacher is my Advance Comp teacher - Ms. Tibbits and my favorite subject is History.
Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? A: Working out.
Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why? A: Dominican Republic. I have family there plus they love baseball and it is the Caribbean.
Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most. A: Michael Jordan. I grew a Chicago Bulls fan and I like the way he couldn’t stand to lose.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life? A: My pitching coach when I was younger was Jeff Innis and he helped me realize how important it is to have fun when you are playing baseball.
Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue? A: Coaching or managing a baseball team. |
