Week 8 Prep Baseball Polls

With just two weeks left in the regular season, look for the postseason picture to begin to take shape starting this week.

There aren't many changes this week in the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine poll. Among the biggest changes is in Class 4A where for the first time this season, a team not named North Oconee is in the No. 1 spot as Marist takes the top spot. Jefferson took two of three games from North Oconee last week to send the Titans tumbling from the No. 1 spot.

In Class 7A, Norcross moves into the rankings for the first time this season.

In Class 6A, the top 10 remains unchanged. But unbeaten and top-ranked Buford meets No. 3 Winder-Barrow this week in a three-game series that will decide the Region 8-6A champion.

In Class 5A, Ola has captured the Region 4-5A title and the Mustangs moved back into the poll at No. 10.

In Class 4A, Heritage-Catoosa moved into the rankings for the first time this season at No. 10 after taking two of three region games from previous No. 10 Northwest Whitfield in Region 7-4A play.

In Class 3A, North Hall swept a trio of region games in Region 7-3A play from Cherokee Bluff, sending the Bears tumbling from No. 5 to No. 10.

In Class 2A, Callaway and Banks County traded spots. Banks, now ranked eighth, was seventh last week, while Callaway moved up a spot.

In Class 1A Public and Class 1A Private, the rankings remained unchanged.
