Q&A with Schley County's Dylan Taylor

Meet Dylan Taylor, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound pitcher/infielder from Schley County who has signed to play at Georgia. Taylor is a member of the South Georgia Big 10 cover for the 2021 Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine. Here are 10 questions with him.

 

Q: What in-game rituals or superstitions do you have?

A: I never step on the foul lines, and I eat Air Head Extremes before the game.

 

Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team?

A: Atlanta Braves.

 

Q: What is your favorite food to eat?

A: Buffalo chicken dip.

 

Q: Name one thing people may be surprised to learn about you? 

A: Throwing a baseball is the only thing I do right-handed in life. I am left-handed at everything else that I do.

 

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and what is your favorite high school subject?

A: My favorite teacher is Coach Dupree. My favorite subject is math.

 

Q: Outside of baseball, what is your next hobby? 

A: I like to play basketball and go fishing.

 

Q: If you could travel anywhere outside the U.S., what would be your dream location and why?

A: Australia because it is known for great fishing and it is a beautiful place.

 

Q: Name the person you'd like to meet the most.

A: Chuck Norris because I loved watching him as a kid.

 

Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents. They have always pushed to make me who I am today. They taught me that there is always room for improvement and to never settle with my accomplishments. Nothing is given in life and you have to work hard to be successful.

 

Q: After baseball, what career are you planning to pursue?

A: I plan to major in sports management. I would love to coach baseball one day.
