Six defending state champs begin season on top

The Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine released its 2020 preseason polls on Monday and six of last year's state champions will begin the season in a familiar spot -- on top.

Defending champs Parkview (Class 7A), Loganville (5A), Northside-Columbus (4A), Jeff Davis (2A), Gordon Lee (1A Public) and Tattnall Square (1A Private) will start the season at No. 1 in their respective classifications.

Houston County is the top-ranked team in Class 6A, while Fannin County will start the season at No. 1 in Class 3A.
