GHSA state championship schedule announced

Rome's State Mutual Stadium will host the GHSA Class 4A and 6A state championship series.

The Georgia High School Association has announced its state baseball championship schedule. The state championships will be played at four sites -- Mercer's OrthoGeorgia Park, Savannah's Grayson Stadium, Rome's State Mutual Stadium and the University of Georgia's Foley Field.

The state championships will be played May 21-23 and are best-of-three series.

Class 2A and 1A Public will hold its championships at Grayson Stadium.

Class 4A and 6A will be played at State Mutual Stadium.

Class 3A and 1A Private will be played at Mercer.

Class 5A and 7A will be played at Foley Field in Athens.

Game times at all four sites are 5:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. (All "if" games played May 23 - times TBA)

May 21 - Class 2A (Berrien vs. Benedictine)
May 22 - Class 1A Public (Gordon Lee vs. Telfair County)

At State Mutual Stadium (Rome)
May 21 - Class 4A (Jefferson vs. Cartersville)
May 22 - Class 6A (Pope vs. Allatoona)

At Mercer (Macon)
May 21 - Class 3A (Lovett vs. Westminster)
May 22 - Class 1A Private (Tattnall Square vs. Prince Avenue Christian)

At Foley Field (UGA)
May 21 - Class 5A (Buford vs. Loganville)
May 22 - Class 7A (Mill Creek vs, Parkview)
